March Snow
It’s March 28 for crying out loud. Whatever happened to that saying “in like a lion, out like a lamb”? That’s what I was thinking last night when it started snowing, and then I woke up to this beautiful snowy morning. After I finished up my early meetings today I pulled to the side of the road on the way home and took this photo. This is why I live in Michigan, even though I am so thoroughly ready for it to warm up. I swear if I hear Chicago has a warm spell before we do, I’m getting in my car and driving there for a couple days.

Centennial BarnI was driving along in the country, hunting for interesting barns and I happened on this old red barn. The owner told me that it is from the Civil War era. If you want to check it out, here’s a google linkto the general area where I took the photo.

Fall Day near Glen Arbor
I’ve been saving this for a day when I’m tired of winter pictures and ready for a warm day. I took the HDR photo on a trip up north last fall on a beautiful, warm sunny day in the Leelanau Peninsula. Can you feel the sunshine? Hope you all had a great, happy and fun Easter.

Franklin Spa
Earlier this week I had a business trip to the Detroit area and wound up in historic Franklin, MI, which is nestled in Bloomfield Hills. When I was there, I discovered a couple of places that I just love! They are in a white house and from the exterior you would never guess the treasures hiding inside.

The first place I want to show you about is the Franklin Spa. The spa regularly has customized pampering and spa parties. As you can see, it’s a very unique, relaxing place to be.

Old Michigan Farm
So I’m driving along on Sayles Avenue near Lowell (see previous post for Google link) and see this old, old farm. It almost looked abandoned, but I think someone still lives here. I had to walk through a field to get this angle and am always a little nervous when I do that in case the owners have a dog that hates intruders. Fortunately, I got my shot without a problem. The place kind of has a haunted feeling about it and after I took this photo, I noticed there is a glow over the white barn. I’m sure it’s just a lens flare but I think it’s cool.

Farmland with beautiful clouds
There’s beautiful farmland everywhere you look in the Sayles Avenue area of Lowell. Here’s a photo I took last week at one of the farms in that area. Soon I’ll show you a photo I took of an old barn from the Civil War era on the same road.

Curious Horse
Yesterday was awesomely everything that comes when you KNOW spring is in the air. You can see it, feel it and smell it. So, I went driving around in Michigan’s farmland and took a bunch of pictures right before sunset. I took this one on a horse farm and this gal just couldn’t figure out what I was up to. I think her name was Emily, she wanted look at my camera… close up. I’ve never been around horses much, but I really like them.

For those of you who love scenic farmland and barn shots, I’ve got a bunch coming up this week.

Sleepy PiggyThis little piggy was snoozing away at Lubbers farm. It just gave me one of those “I’d prefer not to be disturbed looks” and then went back to sleep.

Snow In Michigan
I took this during the heart of one of our winter storms this year. My intention was to drive around and take lots of pretty snow pictures but quickly got over that idea when I realized I’d be stuck in a ditch in no time.

If you’d like a print of this picture, you can get one by clicking this link. Print prices range from $29.97 for a 10″ x 6.5″ print, or you can order a print up to 35″ x 23.3″ for $170.97.

National City BuildingWhat a beautiful winter night. I took this near the Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids of the National City Building.
