Magical Winter Barn
I was looking for the “perfect” winter scene today and saw this old barn. It’s near Warren Townsend Park in Belmont. I love the simplicity and serenity of the farm.

If you love barn shots, check out some other favorites that I’ve taken here.

Grand Rapids at Night
I hope you all have a most excellent holiday season! I’m eagerly anticipating taking lots of pictures for my blog over the next week during time off from my job, hopefully the weather will cooperate. I took ths photo earlier in downtown Grand Rapids.

I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has visited MichiganSweetSpot, especially those who have shared it with their friends and made comments. I truly appreciate your interest and read every single comment.

I took this the other day in downtown Grand Rapids as the sun was starting to set. Everything took on this surreal orangy, pinky glow.

Sorry but I just can’t help it! I was thinking of the warm sunny evening I took this, just as the sun was going down (that’s the bright light through the trees.) This is where I took the picture along the Grand River. Over the Christmas Holiday I plan on getting out there and taking some new winter shots, so be looking for them, they will be here soon!

Winter Dogs
It’s cold but at least the sun is shining! This is the perfect time of the year to find a nice trail and go cross country skiing in the woods with your dog… or friend… or someone fun. Boy is Michigan beautiful when it snows!

Grand Rapids Art Museum GRAR
I love the new Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM). It’s big, modern and full of provoking, inspirational art. There’s much more about the museum online at their website, I hope you’ll check it out.

Grand Rapids, Christmas
Christmas in Michigan, it’s a beautiful place to be. I took this in downtown Grand Rapids near the new art museum and bbbrrrrrrrrrr was it ever cold!

rooster
This cute little rooster was strutting around Lubbers farm like he was king of the hill. Attitude is everything.

Horned Cow in Michigan Field
I took this shot at the Lubbers farm on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids on Luce Street. They are members of a group of local West Michigan farmers who have joined together to promote a sustainable local food system. The group is called the Greater Grand Rapids Food Systems Council, click here for a link to their site to find out more about this great organization.
