I took this shot at the Lubbers farm on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids on Luce Street. They are members of a group of local West Michigan farmers who have joined together to promote a sustainable local food system. Okay, I don’t really know if that’s this calf’s name but it sure is sweet and cute. I’ve loved cows ever since I was a little girl living in Washington State. We had a cow pasture next to our house and every chance I got I’d go visit my favorite cow “Buttercup” and feed her the yellow flowers that grew in the field.
