The sun was shining for just a moment.
The day I took this, the wind was whipping, the roads were packed snow ice and the clouds were ominous. But then the sun came out for a brief moment and then was gone. Luckily, I had my camera.

Feliz Navidad From Michigan
This is what can happen in Michigan, when you get snowed in. Okay, so this isn’t exactly a Michigan Sweet Spot, but we do have chihuahua’s here and I couldn’t resist putting this photo up. I hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday season. Thank you all for making this blog successful.

I think it’s great that we have the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. The arena draws huge acts and it’s really easy to go see them, with cheap, easy parking nearby. In the last few years, I’ve seen bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phil Collins, Prince, Sarah McLaughlin and Nine Inch Nails at the arena. Last time I was downtown, I was thinking about how unique this city is. It has some incredible resources for a city of this size, yet is easy to navigate, safe and fun. Just another reason why I love it here.
My friend Ruth sure knows how to garden! I was over at her house this summer and took this… any idea what it is?
It’s now official, Charlevoix is one of my favorite Michigan Sweet Spots. I was up north for a long weekend this summer and kept returning to Charlevoix. The best way I can describe the city is magical, happy, relaxed and fun. I took this photo at the channel leading into the Charlevoix from Lake Michigan, to my right there’s a drawbridge that goes up for the sailboats. I’ll show you that photo soon. Here’s a google map link to the location where I took this photo.
Also, if you’re looking for a color tour, this is a great time to head north, I hear in a lot of areas the color is peaking.
It’s almost impossible to go to northern Michigan without picking up some fudge. And, Murdick’s Fudge is the place to go according to Michigan fudge insiders. The location in Mackinaw City is the original Murdick’s Fudge and well worth visiting if you’re in the area. Even better, you can order online, here’s a link to the website, where you can order. But don’t blame me if you gain a few pounds after ordering, this stuff is gooood and it’s hard to stop yourself from gorging! This photo is of the three generations of Murdick’s running the Mackinac store Fran Murdick, his son John and grandson Aaron.

As a yoga lover, I’ve always been fascinated with lotus flowers. This year I finally built a lotus bog and here’s my the first bloom.
By the way, thanks everyone who came out to see me at the Reed’s Lake Fine Art Show today in East Grand Rapids. It was a great show and I was honored to be included with all the wonderful artists there.

Rachle Finan of the Super Happy Funtime Burlesque performed a fire dance tonight at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center Avenue for the Arts event. I’d never seen a fire dance before, it was really interesting, especially with Rachle. She has a lot of energy and enthusiasm… my son calls her “Sexy Pochahontas.”

If you love basking in the sun by aqua blue waters on sugar sand beaches, maybe you should check out Charlevoix. It’s a beautiful seaside town along the shores of Lake Michigan. I took this photo in Boulder Park, please click here for a Google map link.

Here we go! It’s Memorial Day weekend and the smart folks are heading north. I was up in Petoskey a couple of weeks ago and took this photo at the Perry Hotel, a local landmark. The place is loaded with history and first class all the way. I loved it.
