Storm clouds ovr Lake Michigan at Oval Beach
I thought I’d stop by Oval Beach on the way to the Saugatuck Waterfont Film Festival and saw this weather front blowing in over Lake Michigan. Even though it started raining, I still had a great time, always do in Saugatuck.

Charlevoix Magic Water
If you love basking in the sun by aqua blue waters on sugar sand beaches, maybe you should check out Charlevoix. It’s a beautiful seaside town along the shores of Lake Michigan. I took this photo in Boulder Park, please click here for a Google map link.

Here we go! It’s Memorial Day weekend and the smart folks are heading north. I was up in Petoskey a couple of weeks ago and took this photo at the Perry Hotel, a local landmark. The place is loaded with history and first class all the way. I loved it.

This bronze statue of the founder of Peoskey stands on a limestone pedestal on a hill over US-31 looking out towards the bay. Philanthropist Robert Jensen Dau commissioned the statue to honor Petoskey who moved here to save his children.

I think it says so much about a community when it features art as part of the public landscape. That’s one thing that a lot of the cities in northern Michigan have in common.

Breathtaking HDR photo of Petoskey, MI

I took this photo at a roadside park along M-31 in Petoskey. It’s still pretty early in the season there so the trees and grass haven’t totally greened up yet. But wow is it ever beautiful. More to come!

Grazy Lazy Horses
This was one of those “perfect moment” scenes where I was forced by circumstances to slam on my brakes, throw the car into reverse and get the shot. (FYI mom, there were no other cars around.)

Awesome Old Barn Along Route
I took this photo of an old, old barn on my mid Michigan road trip. Usually when I’m going somewhere, I just want to blast over there in the straightest, fastest route possible. But, ever since Captain Cutie Pie gave me a Garmon GPS, I try to take some extra time and choose the scenic route on the back roads. Why? It’s more fun and now I know I won’t get lost.

Here’s a great drive that I discovered on my way up North, there’s lots of old barns, and beautiful, beautiful farmland. I highly recommend it. Take a look at this Google map I made special for you, it shows the drive, I stopped about 1/2 way up 66, but you just might want to keep going. And for you guys up north, take the drive down to see us here in lower Michigan! More pics of my trip coming next week.

Beautiful cloudy blue sky in Michigan by Ann Teliczan
After a long cold winter, it’s so great to see the sun and beautiful Michigan Sky. I took this photo driving through the mid-Michigan countryside. I will definitely be taking this route next time I go up north. Although I drove for 3 hours, it went by fast because the scenery was so stunningly gorgeous. Way nicer than the highway!

HDR Photo of old farm in middle Michigan
I drove up to Synchronicity in Glen Arbor today to drop of my creative work for the summer season. Typically when I go on a trip, I take the most direct route home on the highway because I am notorious for getting lost.  I took the back roads and boy are you all in for a treat. I got some great shots of Mid-Michigan farmland. In one of my coming posts I’ll give you some ideas for a beautiful drive.

Sailboat in Michigan

I took this last summer in Whitehall, Michigan. The sailboat was coming in off Lake Michigan and it was hot and sunny. Right after that I got some great photos of a dragonfly hanging out in the grass.
