Here Nessie, Nessie, Nessie

Not that Nessie can do much of a job hiding. I was wondering where The Nessie Project from ArtPrize was hanging out this winter. She’s at the John Ball Park pond. Can’t miss her.

Belknap Park, behind Griff's Ice House ... the sledding hill.

Have you been searching for the ultimate sled hill? The sled hill where you want to prepare with helmets, padding, bandages and slings because it’s so high and fast? Well, this one is probably it for Grand Rapids. Note the antennas to the right, it’s a high point of the city.

To find the hill, it’s a little tricky, so of course I’ve provided a google map link for your convenience, just click here. The hill is located near Division and Coldbrook on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids behind the Griffs Icehouse at Belknap Park. There is convenient parking in the Griffs Icehouse parking lot, and then you just walk to the back of the building and Whah Lah, sled time.

Manistee gets a lot of "weather", just a wait a bit though, it will change.

This is the kind of cloud that gets your attention when it’s blasting toward the shoreline. You never know what you’ll see when you’re at the Manistee shoreline, which is where I took this shot.

This week’s issue of the Advance News’ Cadence has a nice write up by Jan Holst about this blog and what inspired it. You can read the article here.

Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire, Michigan

I know, I know… it’s painful for all you golfers when the greens are covered with snow. So here’s a picture I took at Shanty Creek Resorts this summer to give you a visual fix.

I love the shoreline of Lake Michigan in the winter.

Time to cuddle up by the nice warm fireplace after having an adventure outside in the snow. I took this along the shoreline in Muskegon when I was on a little Michigan adventure.

Oprah Winfrey’s website has on uplifting photo section called “Breathing Space.” Every month Oprah.com features photos that capture relaxing moments. The December Breathing Space is now up and they chose one of my favorite photos, which I took in Ada, Michigan to be in the lead spot. If you’d like to enjoy more breathing space photos, you can check them out here on Oprah’s website.
