This is me (Ann Teliczan) on my latest adventure. I’ll be posting some pics from this photo session in a couple of days, in the meantime are there any guesses regarding where the photo was taken? Oh yeah, thanks Peggy for taking this picture, and Jon for making it happen!

What the? Curious Goats
What the? Curious Goats

I’m almost a little embarrassed to admit that up until I took this picture, I had never “met” a goat before. These little stinkers are REALLY cute and fun. First off, they are curious and secondly, very funny.

I was bored, so deliberately got lost in Coopersville farmland. I saw this farm with goats and the farm owner was nice enough to show me around and let me take some photos.

When the goats saw me standing on the fence to take this picture, they all stared at me like “Hey lady, what the heck are you doing there, shouldn’t you be in here standing on the picnic table with us and playing?”

Some people have goats for pets, and now I know why. If I was home more, I’d be one of them. As I was leaving the farmer told me that some of their goats are for sale. If you would like to find out more about owning a goat of your own: Call Beth at (616) 837-6432.

Beautiful Orchard Farmland Near Grand Rapids' Northwest Side
Beautiful Orchard Farmland Near Grand Rapids' Northwest Side

Yep, I know, that’s not how you spell Michigan, but there’s a story behind this. When I first moved to Michigan, and my future husband and I were dating, he’d take me out driving to his favorite spots in the country.

The area I took this photo was one of them. It’s farmland on the northwest side of Grand Rapids and is just beautiful. We’d be driving along and he’d dramatically wave his arm across his van’s dashboard in a grand fashion and say, “Meeshigan Ann, MEECHIGAN!”

Fishing in downtown Rockford, MI

So, do you see anything slightly nuts about this picture? This guy must really love fishing because: A) That water was Cold! B) could he get any closer to the dam? and C) well, I don’t have a “C”. I took this in downtown Rockford, MI. Rockford is a delightful little town, it’s the home of Wolverine World Wide and has lots of nice little shops, along with a park of which this dam is a focal point.

Butterflies Are Blooming Through The End of April
Butterflies Are Blooming Through The End of April

One sure sign spring is nearing in west Michigan is that the Foremost’s Butterflies Are Blooming Exhibit is underway. This is one of the most popular exhibits at the Frederik Meijer Gardens, and for good reason. It’s a delightful experience to enter the exhibit and be among fluttering butterflies everywhere. This is the largest temporary butterfly exhibit in the United States.

Joy, that’s what I feel visiting there, I hope you can make it to the exhibit, I think you’ll love it.

The Weathervane from across the canal.
The Weathervane from across the canal.

This photo is looking at The Weathervane restaurant in Charlevoix from across the canal by the drawbridge. The restaurant is run by Staffords and so far, every place I’ve been to that they own is great.

I was trying to think of what makes the Weathervane so special and it all boils down to its distinct personality, comfortable atmosphere, great food, and wonderful view. After enjoying a meal here, I like to go across the canal and walk to the free public beach. And, here’s a tip, when you’re coming into town, park before you get to the drawbridge.
