More of the Manistee Water Spouts

Here’s another photo of the storm that sprouted water spouts, as it roared on shore in Manistee.

Sweet and Scary

Water spouts over Lake Michigan were seen nearby right about the same time I took this photo. We ran up a flight of 80 stairs into our friends’ beach house on a 100′ bluff overlooking the lake. The storm hit right after we got inside. This is the second time I’ve seen a storm like this in the Manistee beach area.

Sunset Memories in Grand Haven

As I was walking along the Pier in Grand Haven, Michigan (click for Google map directions to the boardwalk in Grand Haven, MI) I saw this little boy looking out over the water. It made me think of when my own sons were this age and the treasured memories I have of taking them the beach at Grand Haven. How many people that were there that night will remember it forever? I will, what a beautiful place, you can walk all the way down the pier to the lighthouse at the end.

Enchanted Grand Haven Summer Night

If you’ve never been to Grand Haven, well, what can I say, you’re missing out. There’s a really long paved dock along the shoreline to walk along that ends at a lighthouse, way out on the water. Along the way there’s all kinds of boats passing by. This picture barely captures this enchanted moment. I was standing on the dock watching as this sailboat full of happy people who had probably spent the day on Lake Michigan, breezed by listening to reggea music and dancing.

This corn crib is sitting right next to Awesome Historical Barn. The sky was incredible and it was almost dusk.

About Michigan Sweet Spot

Filed under: About Michigan Sweet Spot — teliczan @ 4:51 pm

Michigan Sweet Spot was created by me, Ann Teliczan. I’m a fine artist and photographer and wanted to share my love for Michigan with the world. The images on this website are all HDR photography, which is slightly exaggerated for effect.

I wanted to make it easy to go see the places I’m blogging about so most of the images here also have a Google map link to the location the photo was taken so you can actually go see it for yourself.

This is a fluid website, so you may need to make your window wider to view the site without the navigation bar overlapping the images. Thank you to every one who makes comments on my website, I appreciate and read them all.

For information about my fine art, which is different from the HDR photography seen on this site, check out my fine art site www.Anntopia.com.

Awesome Historic Barn

Michigan is full of beautiful, rustic looking old barns. This one is over 100 years old and near the Ada area, driving down Bailey towards Lowell.

Here’s a couple of links to more Michigan barn HDR pictures that I’ve taken: Barns 1 Barns 2 … the last photo in the Barns 2 link is a classic!

I’ve had a lot of requests for prints of this photo, so have created a link where you can order it in a variety of sizes, unframed or framed. Just click here for more information.

Sailboat Rides in Saugatuck

saugatuck6mss2.jpgThere’s a nice little place for sailboat rides, it launches into this beautiful scene. There’s a little park here too.

The Timmel Collection

Filed under: Art Galleries, Saugatuck, Uncategorized — teliczan @ 4:52 pm

timmel3mssfnlweb.jpgThe Saugatuck and Douglas area is filled with awesome art galleries. My personal favorite is the Timmel Collection. The gallery was founded by Joel Timmel who still runs it along with the gallery director, Rocky Kruithoff. It exhibits an eclectic collection of unique art, including my fine art.

At the side/back of the gallery is a fenced in parklike area that features beautiful and unique garden sculptures, fountains and other art for the yard. I love, love, LOVE this place. It’s a teeny bit hard to find though, follow my Google link and then when you get there, look for this park on Butler Street on the Village Green. There’s a white church at the back of the park, and just to the left of the church you’ll see the gallery. Here’s a picture of the gallery, peeking past a sculpture in the little park I’m talking about. The gallery is open every day from 10AM – 5PM April – November, during the winter, it is open Saturday & Sunday noon – 5PM.
