Ann………..a friend e-mailed me your site….I am a former “down-stater”, luckily transplanted in Manistee for the last 15 years. I call it my “hometown” because I fell in love with it so. Your photos of the area are absolutely exquisite. Thank you for sharing such fine work. They took my breath away.

Thanks Laura, it’s pretty easy to take an exquisite photo in Manistee, I love it there too!

During my childhood I spent many vacations there. In May of 2007 I visited my cousin Cookie and spent a few days in the house I vacationed in as a child. I love what they’ve done to the water way behind her house and the improvements they’ve made to the Fifth Ave. beach area. My favortie picture just happens to be above my computer, it’s a picture my sister-in-law took on the 4th of July while boating, it’s the lighthouse on the pier with a beautiful sunset. Wish there was a way I could forward it to you.
I’m orginally from Detroit and have lived in Tucson, AZ for the last 45 years, but I still charish time i Manistee. I love the southwest as mch as Manistee.

I love the photos. I lived in Manistee as a child, and visited many summers after moving to Lansing. I now am in Oklahoma. Nothing is more beautiful or has better memories for me than Manistee Michigan!
